AUTHENTIC WINE & SPIRITS MERCHANTS (AWSM) started in Ontario in 1991 and was acquired by the Charton Hobbs group in 1998. It has now grown to a national highly reputable fine wines and spirits sales and marketing company. An affiliate of the Charton Hobbs Group of Companies, AWSM remains independent and has its own sales force, marketing department and portfolio. In January 2006, AWSM expanded into Western Canada when a joint venture was formed with Charton Hobbs, Darryl Weinbren and Richard Carras providing AWSM with a national footprint. Today, offices are located in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada. AWSM also benefits from the critical mass of the Charton Hobbs group and shares the centrally Montreal based IT, HR, Accounting and Logistics services.
