Winemaking notes
Hand-harvested and carefully sorted on arrival at the cellar. Grenache is destemmed, Syrah is not. Fermented in 50-hectolitre conical vats, with extraction and temperature monitored daily through tasting punch-downs and pump-overs are used throughout. Vatting extends beyond fermentation. Aged 18 months in large foudres, preserving the elegance and minerality of the terroir.
Viticultural notes
Grenache and Syrah from a parcel of less than one hectare of pre-phylloxera vines approximately 100 years old, located in the south-western heart of the historic Gigondas vineyard. Sandy soils. Production is limited to 1,500 bottles per year. The 2022 vintage marked by a dry winter and spring, a sunny summer tempered by restorative rains in mid-August yielded grapes of outstanding quality and maturity.
Tasting notes
Deep, brilliant ruby red. The nose opens with delicate refinement: struck flint and black olive reveal a beautiful freshness and ashy minerality. The palate is elegant, broad and generous, with wild strawberry notes supported by firm yet perfectly integrated tannins and a discreet oak touch that adds roundness. The finish is very long and persistent, underpinned by a subtle hint of spice.
Pairing notes
Serve at 15 °C in large Burgundy glasses. Outstanding with veal and chanterelles, braised beef, game and aged cheeses. A wine of rare elegance and exceptional generosity
