Winemaking notes
The grapes are harvested manually and around 70% are destemmed. A cold maceration of about three days is followed by a fermentation lasting around twenty days with punch-downs and pump-overs to extract color and structure. The wine is then aged for approximately twelve months in previously used oak barrels, refining the tannins while preserving fruit purity.
Viticultural notes
This Crozes-Hermitage comes from old vines located in the heart of the appellation, particularly around Chanos-Curson, Pont d’Isère and La Roche-de-Glun. The vineyards are farmed using traditional practices that respect the natural balance of the terroir. The soils are composed of clay and sand covered with rolled pebbles, contributing to both concentration and finesse.
Tasting notes
The wine displays a deep and intense color with dark purple reflections and opens on a concentrated nose that evolves with aeration toward very ripe red fruit, sweet spice and subtle oak notes. On the palate, it is rich and structured with silky tannins and strong aromatic intensity, leading to a long, smooth and persistent finish.
Pairing notes
This wine pairs well with grilled red meats, spicy dishes and rich stews. It is best served between 15 and 18°C and can be enjoyed now or aged for several years thanks to its balance and structure.
