Winemaking notes

Classical vinification with destalked, crushed grapes using the latest fermentation control technologies and long maceration periods. Aged for 24 to 30 months in American oak casks with appropriately-timed rackings. Aged in the bottle for at least 12 months before being put on the market. Serve at between 16º and 18ºC. Unmistakable personality of Cenicero wines.

Viticultural notes

100% Tempranillo. Bodegas Riojanas controls more than 100 hectares. From the best vineyards on clay-limestone in Cenicero, San Vicente de la Sonsierra and nearby towns. The quintessential grape in Rioja is Tempranillo, but Bodegas Riojanas also has one of the largest areas dedicated to Mazuelo and Graciano within the denomination, varieties that provide greater personality to their wines.

Tasting notes

Intense aromas of dates, dried fruits and spices such as cinnamon. On the palate, stewed red fruits, spices then tobacco. The tannins are velvety as well as well melted followed by a long sustained finish. 92 pts James Suckling 93 pt - Wine Enthusiast Rioja Masters, Gold 2022

Pairing notes

In agreement with beef skewers with pink pepper and cherry tomatoes, lamb chops with grilled garlic and rosemary, as well as a Provençal beef stew.
