Winemaking notes
80 % of the harvest is hand picked and 20 % is through mechanical picking 85 % is Syrah and the other 15 % are from a variety of other red grapes.
Grapes are sourced from multi-climatic situated vineyards in the Central Valley: coastal, southern and mountain estates add to the complexity of the wine. The wine spends 8 months in stainless steel tanks followed by an additional 8 months in barrels.
Viticultural notes
Red clay and granite are found in the coastal and southern estate vineyards. The soils are of gravel and alluvial in the mountain estates. Cool nights with foggy mornings are consistent.
Tasting notes
A highly intense appearance, standing out for its dark red concentrated colour. On the nose, rich notes of red fruit exquisitely combined with sweet spicy tones of chocolate, mocha and a delicately elegant violet-like touch. Some nice final notes of toasted oak are perceived, due to its aging time in barrels. The mouthfeel presents a pleasant texture, which is structured and persistent.
Pairing notes
Pair with red meats, cheeses and well-seasoned foods.
