Winemaking notes
The Can Sumoi Sumoll-Garnatxa wine is made with the Sumoll variety, complemented by another native variety, Garnacha. These vines are cultivated following biodynamic principles, and the grapes are fermented in the cellar with minimal intervention in stainless steel tanks. The wine stays in the tanks for 12 months and is bottled without stabilization or filtration, and without the addition of oenological products.
Viticultural notes
The 400-hectare estate of Can Sumoi is located at 600 meters above sea level in the Serra de l'Home, in the Penedès. Its 350-year-old farmhouse and stone walls shelter thirty hectares of old vines of Montonega, Xarel-lo, and Sumoll; oak and white pine groves provide shade over the remaining land.
Tasting notes
Can Sumoi Sumoll-Garnatxa is a juicy red wine with an intense nose of wild fruits and Mediterranean forest herbs. On the palate, it is refined, light, and elegant. The wine offers a good amount of fruit, with a long finish and a noticeable acidity.
