Winemaking notes
Sourced from Quinta da Leda and neighbouring vineyards. After destemming and soft-crushing, grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks with gentle macerations at controlled temperatures. Aged 12 months in French oak (75% used, 25% new). Final blend assembled after rigorous selection, lightly filtered before bottling. Winemaker: Luís Sottomayor.
Viticultural notes
A blend of Touriga Francesa (55%), Touriga Nacional (30%) and Tinta Roriz (15%) from higher-altitude Douro vineyards. The 2023 vintage, shaped by a rainy winter replenishing soil reserves and a warm summer with June and September rainfall, delivered well-balanced ripening and wines of remarkable elegance.
Tasting notes
Deep ruby red. The nose is intense and complex: red and ripe black fruit, plum, pepper spice, artichoke and sous-bois notes with well-integrated oak. The palate is elegant with good fruit structure and refined tannins, leading to a long, well-balanced finish.
Pairing notes
Serve between 16–18 °C directly from the bottle. Sediment may form after 2 years decant if necessary. Outstanding with roast and grilled meats, game and rich oven-roasted fish. Consume within 24 hours of opening.
