Winemaking notes
The vinification takes place in the facilities of Quinta da Leda using grapes from the estate where they are selected for their maturity: an aromatic and polyphenolic concentration is sought. After total destemming and light crushing, the grapes are poured into stainless steel vats or granite lagares so that maceration and alcoholic fermentation take place. Aged in French oak barrels for approximately 18 months.
Viticultural notes
Produced exclusively with grapes from the best plots on the estate. Over the years, it has earned several awards from critics in competitions such as the International Wine Challenge, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, the International Wine & Spirit Competition or the Decanter World Wine Awards, among other prominent scores in Wine Spectator and Robert Parker.
Tasting notes
Deep ruby in colour, this wine has complex and intense aromas of black fruits, with spicy hints of black pepper and cloves. There are balsamic hints and subtle menthol notes with very well-integrated oak. On the palate, it has fine tannins, with a well-developed acidity resulting in a long finish.
Pairing notes
The ideal companion for rich meat dishes and game such as venison, also delicious with strong cheeses.
