Mega Spileo Estate Syrah 2016

The destemmed grapes are whole-berry fermented, followed by malolactic fermentation and aging in new French and American oak barrels for 22 to 26 months. The wine is then bottle-aged for another two years. To preserve its full color and flavor profile, it undergoes minimal filtration and no cold stabilization.

This Syrah comes from the Achaia region of Greece, where optimal sun exposure and careful vineyard practices ensure perfectly ripened grapes. Manual harvesting allows for precise fruit selection, aiming to express both the varietal character and the unique local terroir.

Deep red color with lively highlights. The nose reveals layers of black pepper, ripe fruit, smoked meat, dark chocolate, and roasted nuts. The palate is full-bodied with fine tannins and vibrant acidity, leading to an impressively long finish marked by laurel and nutty notes.

Enjoy now or cellar for greater complexity. Decanting for one hour is recommended to unlock its full aromatic depth. Serve at 16–18°C alongside grilled meats, rich stews, or aged cheeses for a perfect pairing.
