Winemaking notes
After a winter of variable temperatures, spring was mild, with alternating coolness and heat between April and May, accompanied by a shortage of rain. The summer saw several heat waves, and the thunderstorms at the end of August were beneficial before the harvest, which took place from August 30 to September 13. The 2022 vintage is generous in volume, offering well-balanced, precise and fresh white wines.
Viticultural notes
At the heart of the Clos des Mouches appellation, Chanson is one of the main owners, with a 4.3-hectare parcel of which 2.2 ha are planted with Chardonnay. A sun-drenched terroir ideally situated on the south-east-facing slopes of Mont Saint-Désiré, on the edge of the Pommard Premiers Crus.
Tasting notes
Pale gold color. Floral fragrances with aromas of white and yellow-fleshed fruit (peach, apricot), toast and a hint of minerality. Well-balanced and well-structured. Creamy texture. Complex oak. Long, generous finish on lightly spicy notes. Score : 95/100 Jasper Morris/Inside Burgundy - 16,5/20 Jancis Robinson
Pairing notes
Foie gras, seafood, pan-fried scallops, poultry with cream and morel mushrooms, grilled fish or fish in sauce, regional cheeses (Citeaux, Epoisses and an old Comté).
