Winemaking notes
La Chasselière comes from hand-harvested Syrah, vinified parcel by parcel to preserve the identity of each terroir. Fermentation takes place in truncated wooden vats with a three-week maceration. Regular pump-overs ensure full aromatic and textural extraction. Aging follows for 12 months in oak barrels of 2 to 4 years of use.
Viticultural notes
The vines, over 25 years old, grow on two sites: stony clay-limestone soils in Pont-de-l’Isère and deeper terraces in Mercurol. Certified HVE and organic, the vineyard is farmed with full respect for biodiversity. These terroirs bring concentration, finesse, and the mineral brilliance of granite, creating a wine both expressive and balanced.
Tasting notes
This Crozes-Hermitage shows a deep garnet color with purple highlights. The nose is intense, offering aromas of red and black fruits. On the palate, the wine reveals fine tannins and an elegant texture, supported by bright freshness. Flavors of ripe black cherry blend harmoniously, leading to a long and well-balanced finish.
Pairing notes
Serve ideally at 18 °C to highlight its full aromatic complexity. It pairs beautifully with roasted poultry, grilled meat, or game birds. A perfect match with chicken supreme in a porcini sauce, duck parmentier, or a square of dark chocolate. With a cellaring potential of 6 to 8 years, it combines elegance, power, and refinement.
