Winemaking notes
The harvest date is determined based on checks of the berries' ripeness and tasting. As soon as they arrive at the winery, the grapes are sorted and destemmed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. Extraction is achieved through careful pumping over based on tasting notes. After devatting and malolactic fermentation, the wines are transferred partly to oak barrels and partly to stainless steel tanks, where they will be aged for one year.
Viticultural notes
This wine comes from a vineyard located between Valréas, Vaison-la-Romaine, and Cairanne, northeast of Orange. The vineyard is planted with Grenache and Syrah. The soils are stony, clay-limestone, and gravelly-clay. Ecocert-certified, resulting from experience in organic and biodynamic viticulture (Beaucastel was one of the first major French estates to turn to organic viticulture 40 years ago).
Tasting notes
Deep red color with violet highlights. The nose offers intense aromas of dark fruits such as blackberry, blackcurrant, and cherry, underscored by spicy notes and hints of garrigue, typical of the region. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and structured, with fine, well-integrated tannins that support a dense yet balanced body. The freshness balances the richness of the fruit, offering beautiful harmony and a particularly pleasant texture.
Pairing notes
Serve at 15–16°C with grilled lamb chops seasoned with herbes de Provence and Provençal ratatouille. It also pairs well with an aperitif among friends.
