Winemaking notes
Selectively harvested at full ripeness, gently pressed to tank, then settled and racked. The wine is kept on fine lees for 3 months to build weight, texture and complexity. True to the Alsatian style — rich and generous — it stands apart from the leaner, drier Pinot Grigio
Viticultural notes
from the lower Wairau Valley vineyards, Marlborough. Cool nights during ripening and warm, dry summers preserve concentrated flavours and natural freshness. Pinot Gris represents only 6% of New Zealand's total wine production and just 3% of its exports — a rare and precious variety in this country. Grove Mill was the world's first winery to achieve Carbon-Zero Certification, a pioneering milestone reached in 2006, now 20 years ago. Certified NZ Sustainable Winegrowing.
Tasting notes
Bright, pale straw in the glass. The nose is expressive and vibrant: ripe pear, lychee and citrus intertwine with delicate white floral notes and subtle spice nuances. The palate is fresh and concentrated, with a silky texture and a harmonious interplay between juicy fruit sweetness and refreshing acidity. The finish is long, moreish and inviting.
