10 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 8

Our very first bottling of The GlenAllachie 10-year-old Cask Strength happened by chance. In 2017, whilst reviewing parcels of stock from 2007 and 2008, our Master Distiller Billy Walker was so delighted by the balance and depth of the samples that he immediately decided to add a younger expression to our core range. Following in the footsteps of its acclaimed predecessors, most notably Batch 4 which was awarded ‘World’s Best Single Malt’

The GlenAllachie Cask Strength Batch 8 is a marriage of whisky from Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso Sherry puncheons, along with a small quantity of Virgin Oak and Rioja casks. The resulting liquid is rich with sweet spices, tangy orange and indulgent mocha. Batch 8 is bottled at natural cask strength of 57.2%, without chill-filtration or added colour.

Intensely Rich Mahogany. Bursting with mocha, nutmeg and walnut oil, with notes of heather honey, sweet raisins and dried red berries. Lashings of cinnamon spice, molasses and honeycomb, followed by ginger and dark chocolate, with hints of nutmeg and fennel on the finish.
