Winemaking notes

Bottled in March 2019 for Gordon & MacPhail’s Connoisseurs Choice range, this 2005-vintage Caol Ila was matured in a single first-fill bourbon barrel for 13 years and finished in a Hermitage wine cask for a further year.

Tasting notes

Subtle aromas of vanilla, dark chocolate, cinnamon and cloves develop alongside delicate meadow flowers. The palate initially offers notes of creamy vanilla and black pepper, which build into liquorice and orange blossom balanced by juicy fruit and brown sugar.
