Winemaking notes
FORTUNATE SON is the culmination of more than two decades searching for small jewel vineyards and the fruit from them, handcrafted in the same, meticulous way as Hundred Acre.
Viticultural notes
Sourced from small, family vineyards, (in some cases
for 3-4 generations) that are farmed with great care and attention. Made in very small amounts and combined from blocks of vineyards where they make a perfect combination of power, complexity and layers that give the wine incredible character and elegance.
Composition — 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting notes
Coming from two vineyards, the Fortunate Son Cabernet Sauvignon The Dreamer sports a vivid purple hue to go with beautiful aromatics of darker currants, ripe cranberries, leafy tobacco, and spring flowers. I love its balance, it's medium to full-bodied, has gorgeous tannins, and a great finish. - Jeb Dunnuck
Pairing notes
This wine is dark and brooding, a wine of elegance, fine and structured tannins, and basically the wine-equivalent of a Wagner piece on a stormy night after unexpectedly making an enormous sum of money. In other words, it is fucking pure magic with rock bloody solid complexity on a very high level. - Jayson Woodbridge
