Winemaking notes
Made with 100% Syrah, all whole cluster fermentation with stems. Native yeasts are used. 50 days on skin contact. The wine spends time in 65% new French Barrels with 26 months of barrel-aged on lees.
Viticultural notes
(100%) harvested from the Stoneridge Vineyard that rests above the flood plain of the Columbia River. There is alluvial fan gravel and under the topsoil is a layer of caliche and basalt 6-12’’ deep, creating
a calcium and iron rich media that forces roots to struggle
Tasting notes
A beautiful perfume of kirsch and black cherry liqueur intermixed with notes of crushed flowers, ground herbs, pepper, and dried earth. Full-bodied, seamless, and ultra-fine on the palate, it has no hard edges and a flawless balance.
Pairing notes
Pairs well with a variety of red meat dishes such as Lamb Ragu with olives and peppers.
