Winemaking notes
Hand-harvested grapes are vinified in stainless steel tanks with 13 to 14 days of maceration with the skins, using a gentle "shower" system of wetting the cap at a temperature between 27 and 32 °C. Malolactic fermentation also takes place in stainless steel, preserving the aromatic purity and natural freshness of the Nebbiolo. A minimum of 3 years' ageing, including 24 months in large oak casks, followed by bottle refinement.
Viticultural notes
Vineyards of Verduno and La Morra, within the DOCG Barolo. The Tortonian-origin soils of La Morra and Verduno are characterised by a greater presence of limestone and sand, with a predominantly east/south-east exposure. Guyot training system. The 2022 vintage, one of the warmest of the decade in Piedmont, yielded grapes of outstanding concentration and richness.
Pairing notes
Serve at 17–18 °C. Decanting for at least 1 hour is strongly recommended to reveal the wine's full aromatic complexity. Outstanding with agnolotti with roasted, braised and lamb sauces, game, red meats and bold aged cheeses.
