Winemaking notes
The 2022 vintage was a challenging one. Overall it was warm and dry, with high temperatures and a long summer with scarce rain. The water shortage was so severe that the Regione Piemonte issued a waiver to allow vineyard irrigation. Harvest was an early one, with grapes that revealed excellent qualities.
Viticultural notes
Less known than its neighbors Barolo and Barbaresco, the Roero appellation is distinguished by a sandier soil rich in marine deposits. It is also the home of Arneis, an original grape variety which almost disappeared but which is enjoying a comeback.
Tasting notes
In this vintage, everything is there: aromatic power, liveliness, as well as a savory touch of saline minerality and a hint of white pepper.
Pairing notes
Happiness in the company of seafood pasta.
