Winemaking notes
This wine comes from two distinct vineyards in Rioja Alta. "Los Campillos," located at 480 meters above sea level, adds floral notes and body, while "Camino Arenzana," at 600 meters, contributes freshness and vibrancy. Bodegas Riojanas promotes sustainable viticulture on non-irrigated land, avoiding the use of insecticides, herbicides, or pesticides, thereby preserving biodiversity and soil health.
Viticultural notes
The Tempranillo Blanco is carefully crafted following Rioja tradition. The grapes are initially fermented in lightly toasted French oak barrels, with a 24-hour maceration to prevent oxidation. The wine remains on lees with daily bâtonnage for six months, then ages in barrels for an additional 12 months, and finally rests in bottles for 12 months, totaling 18 months in barrels.
Tasting notes
The wine displays a bright yellow color with amber reflections. The balanced nose combines white flowers, pear, apple, spices, and vanilla. On the palate, it's fresh, smooth, and well-structured, with sweet flavors of spices, citrus, pear, and smoky notes, all set against a backdrop of aromatic herbs. The finish is persistent, leaving a refreshing sensation of acidity.
