Winemaking notes
The wine was vinified in small volumes with slow fermentation and regular stirring in stainless steel vats.
Viticultural notes
Region: Province of Beira Alta Soils: Granitic from central Portugal with an average altitude of 500m that can experience snow! The climate is oceanic and cold continental at the same time… The summers are hot, because the vineyard is located in a basin.
Tasting notes
Nose of black fruits, anise, smoke with a slight mineral touch. On the palate, the acidity is refreshing and the tannins are rich. A disconcertingly simple red wine…after a little decantation, the wine opens up with spicy notes as well as red fruits. Its attack is lively and tonic with a fairly firm then well-polished tannic structure, a very balanced finish.
Pairing notes
Excellent with meatloaf, Portuguese grilled chicken or a good raclette.
