Winemaking notes

Distilled in 1957 at Glen Grant distillery, this Speyside single malt lay in a single refill sherry hogshead for more than half a century before it was bottled for Gordon & MacPhail's Private Collection in January 2019.

Tasting notes

Rich aromas of fruit, woody spice, leather and salted caramel initially fill the nose, before hints of dark chocolate and subtle sherry develop. The palate offers notes of dried fruits, figs, warm spices and oak, developing into sweet fudge, fresh menthol, rich malt and bitter oak, before a long, nutty finish.
