Winemaking notes
The grapes are subject to a cold maceration for 72 hours before fermentation begins. In order to produce a silky and approachable style of wine, the grapes are pressed before primary fermentation is complete and transferred to oak barrels. The wine is then matured in French oak for a minimum of 12 months before bottling.
Viticultural notes
30-year-old bush vines grown at high altitude on stony soils. The fruit comes from 30-year-old bush vines grown on stony soils, planted at different altitudes in the Cariñena district of Aragon. We work with two distinct plots: the lower altitude vineyards bring fruit and alcohol to the blend, while our higher altitude plots (600-700m) bring wonderful freshness and structure to the Grenache. These well-drained soils, rich in glacial deposits, are naturally conducive to low yields - typically four tons per hectare.
Tasting notes
Aromatic complexity and a crimson hue are quintessential hallmarks of our Old Vine Grenache. Black pepper, wood smoke, and strawberry feature at the forefront. The finish is long and harmonious, with a touch of vanilla and Chinese Five Spice. Perfect with robust and rich dishes, such as beef casserole and BBQ ribs
