Winemaking notes
Framingham Marlborough Chardonnay is a wine that
relies on harmony between quality fruit and winemaking
technique to achieve balance. No sulphur was added to the juices
at the point of extraction which then were fermented
spontaneously in a 500L French oak puncheons, 15% of
which were new. All components underwent malolactic
fermentation and were aged on full ferment lees for
10months prior to being blended and bottled.
Viticultural notes
Fruit was sourced from three sites in the Central
Wairau Valley subregion. Clones 95 (50%) and Mendoza
(50%) where used. Stony, gravelly old riverbed and silty loam.
Tasting notes
Aromatics of ripe yellow citrus, nectarine and brioche.
Subtle toasty notes are present. A finely textured palate
with an array of flavours from Meyer lemon to stone
fruits with a lively acid to savour.
Pairing notes
All kinds of soft cheeses, white meats and rich seafood
such as koura (crayfish)
