Winemaking notes
In the heart of Cuba, 7,000 barrels have been aging for decades. Combining tradition and modernity, this rum reveals Cuba's treasure with a feminine touch, the result of blends of fermented molasses distilled in column stills.
Viticultural notes
After two years of aging, the distillate becomes Ron Base, diluted to 40-60% alcohol. Three Ron Base rums aged between five and 15 years are blended to create La Progresiva Mezcla 13, which can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in an Old Fashioned.
Tasting notes
Notes of smoke, oak, and charred wood. Lively, dynamic, and elegantly sophisticated. Rather dry, with woody and smoky notes. Burnt caramel, dried apple, and a slight saltiness, all reminiscent of a dessert. Rich texture.
Long finish accompanied by a tannic sensation on the palate.
Pairing notes
Best enjoyed neat, with an ice cube or in an Old Fashioned, La Progresiva pairs perfectly with an Open Master, a Romeo y Julieta Short Churchill, or an Epicure No. 2. Each cigar, pierced or cut as recommended, enhances the woody notes and smoothness of the rum.
