Winemaking notes
Hand-harvested and carefully selected grapes from the Kamptal vineyards. Gentle pressing followed by temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve the full fresh and floral aromatic expression of the variety. The wine is bottled in April, in keeping with the estate's philosophy of allowing wines to reach their full potential before release.
Viticultural notes
The Peter Schweiger winery is located in the wine village of Zöbing, in the southernmost tip of the Kamptal, with a view of what is probably Austria's most famous vineyard: the Heiligenstein. The estate's 18 hectares of vineyards are planted on terraced slopes between 300 and 500 metres above sea level, primarily to Grüner Veltliner and Riesling. Certified "Nachhaltig Austria" since 2019, the estate has been farmed sustainably across four generations.
Tasting notes
Exuberantly floral and herbaceous on the nose, with notions of zesty citrus and crunchy green apple. The palate is light and precise, driven by vibrant acidity and a distinctive mineral vein. The hallmark white pepper note of Grüner Veltliner emerges on a fresh, mouth-watering finish. A wine of exceptional varietal purity.
Pairing notes
Serve well chilled between 8–10 °C. Excellent as an aperitif, with seafood, oysters, grilled fish, lightly spiced Asian cuisine, seasonal salads and fresh goat cheeses. Best enjoyed young to fully capture its floral vibrancy and freshness.
