Winemaking notes
After soft-crushing, with destemming, alcoholic fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks where the wine underwent gentle maceration to extract the inherent qualities of the grapeskins. Its balance and harmony, as well as its body and structure, come courtesy of carefully selected grapes and a fermentation process that was stopped at the perfect moment using brandy.
Viticultural notes
After the harvest, the wine remained in the Douro. It was subsequently transported to Vila Nova de Gaia the following spring, where it aged in the traditional manner for Port wines: in oak casks characteristic of the Offley brand. During this period, it was subject to frequent racking, analysis and tests to monitor its development and select the ideal time for bottling.
Tasting notes
A red colour with orange tints. A very complex aroma with prominent balsamic notes of tobacco box, alongside spices, ginger, liquorice, red fruit and a slight minerality. On the palate it has good structure, distinctive tannins of great texture, a well-integrated acidity, spicy notes and further hints of well-ripened red fruit that invite a long and harmonious finish.
Pairing notes
Serve at between 12ºC-14ºC. This wine pairs wonderfully with desserts, such as custard, apple pie, orange cake and dried fruit desserts.
