Winemaking notes
The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 2019 is made with alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks at temperatures between 25 and 28°C, followed by malolactic fermentation also in stainless steel. The wine is then aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, which imparts a complex and elegant structure. After this period, it rests in concrete vessels for a few months before bottling to enhance its balance and finesse.
Viticultural notes
Villa Rosa’s vines benefit from a strategic location with slopes up to 35% grade. The estate’s focus is on producing Gran Selezione, the most prestigious Chianti Classico designation, aiming to fully express Sangiovese’s potential. The calcareous-clay soils, rich in Alberese and Galestro, contribute to the exceptional quality of the wine.
Tasting notes
The Gran Selezione Villa Rosa 2019 is distinguished by its vivid and rarefied color, offering an extremely elegant bouquet. The wine features refined floral aromas, delicate fruity notes, and light spicy hints. On the palate, it shows remarkable ripeness, a sophisticated tannic texture, and a harmonious progression, reflecting an exceptional vintage for Sangiovese.
