Winemaking notes
A three-hour pre-fermentation maceration allows for the extraction of the most delicate aromas from the Malagousia grape. After static settling, alcoholic fermentation takes place with selected yeasts at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks, preserving the variety’s freshness and purity. The wine is then left on its fine lees for 4 to 5 weeks, with gentle stirring (bâtonnage) to enhance roundness, texture, and aromatic complexity.
Viticultural notes
Produced from organically farmed vines located on the plateau of Trapeza and in Vrosthena, at altitudes between 800 and 850 meters in the Achaia region. This elevation promotes a slow and steady ripening of the grapes, preserving their freshness and aromatic intensity. Harvest takes place in early September, when the berries reach their optimal balance between acidity and aromatic richness.
Tasting notes
Kthma Mega Spileo Malagousia shows a pale yellow color with greenish hues. The nose opens with white floral notes and tropical fruit aromas, followed by hints of apricot, basil, and fresh nectarine. On the palate, it offers refined elegance, bright acidity, and a fruit-driven, refreshing finish. A beautifully balanced and expressive wine that reflects the mountain terroir of Achaia.
Pairing notes
Serve well chilled, between 8 and 10 °C. This wine pairs beautifully with seafood, shellfish, creamy risottos, and pasta dishes with vegetables or fresh herbs.
