Winemaking notes
Each grape variety is harvested separately by hand. Vinification takes place in wooden tronconic vats for the reductive varieties (Syrah, Mourvèdre) and in traditional concrete and enamelled sandstone vats for the oxidative varieties (all the others). At the end of the malolactic fermentations, the Perrin family proceeds with the blending of the different varieties, then the wine ages in oak foudres for one year before bottling.
Viticultural notes
Château de Beaucastel has long been considered one of the greatest wines of France and is unanimously renowned both for its balance, its elegance, and its capacity for aging. Beaucastel has an extraordinary terroir at the northern tip of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, very exposed to the Mistral. The thirteen grape varieties of the appellation have been cultivated organically there since the 1960s.
Tasting notes
Magnificent deep red color with purple highlights. The nose reveals a very fine balance between ripeness and freshness of the fruit and superb notes of fresh fruit and spices. Very elegant, full and silky on the palate, it opens with a spicy attack with aromas of garrigue, then reveals a perfect balance between its beautiful tannic richness and its delicate roundness. The finish, of great length.
