Winemaking notes
FORTUNATE SON is the culmination of more than two decades searching for small jewel vineyards and the fruit from them, handcrafted in the same, meticulous way as Hundred Acre.
Viticultural notes
Sourced from a single, small, family-owned vineyard,
farmed with great care and attention (their “dream” standard) and never forced to pick by weather or tank capacities. Made by sorting the fruit berry by berry,
fermenting in small, French oak fermenters, and long aging in the finest barriques. The secret is no compromise and no detail overlooked, ever. Composition — 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting notes
The Fortunate Son The Warrior is riveting stuff, offering an incredible array of sweet darker currants, tobacco leaf, lead pencil, and classy oak. It's a big, rich wine, yet it's not over the top and has a semi-opaque purple hue, medium to full body, seamless tannins, and a layered, silky, incredibly satisfying style that's going to evolve for two decades. - Jeb Dunnuck
Pairing notes
Pure, total power and darkness. Be careful as you may like
it too much and it could put you in the mood to tell people
what you really think. It again is not for the faint of heart
it is for those with a will of steel and determination to
match. This is a wine for people that admire subtle elegance and not-so-subtle power. - Jayson Woodbridge
