Winemaking notes
Grapes were hand-harvested and fermented over a 7-day period in concrete vessels. Each component was lightly oaked for 11 months in neutral casks to soften the mouthfeel while preserving fruit expression. The wine was crafted in a delicate, fruit-forward style. Fining and filtration were completed prior to bottling.
Viticultural notes
he grapes are sourced from the Cape Coast region. Syrah, Cinsault and Mourvèdre come from dry-farmed vineyards grown on shale soils in the Agter-Paarl region. Grenache is grown on irrigated trellised vines located on the border between Agter-Paarl and Swartland. The 2024 vintage was marked by an early harvest, ensuring healthy crops with abundant aromatics. Dry-farmed vineyards produced smaller berries and naturally disease-resistant vines.
Tasting notes
It displays a ruby garnet hue. The nose reveals ripe plum, vanilla, spice and violet aromas. On the palate, flavors of plum, blueberry and dark cherry intertwine with a hint of anise. The wine is rich and generous, offering a lush mouthfeel supported by gentle tannins that carry through to a smooth and elegant finish.
Pairing notes
Serve between 16 and 18°C. Pairs perfectly with grilled meats, roasted meats, spicy dishes, or hard cheeses.
