Winemaking notes
The grapes for this wine come from 4 different Cabernet vineyards and our best Petit Verdot and Malbec vineyards at different altitudes. After being cold for a few days, the juice underwent fermentation with indigenous yeasts for about 10 days on the skins. 30% new oak. Bottled without fining and without filtration after 20 months of ageing.
Viticultural notes
Decomposed granitic soils typical of the hillsides of Jonkershoek, soil textures vary greatly depending on the plots selected for this cuvée and this, combined with differences in elevation and clones, gives a variety of different flavor profiles to the grapes which gives complexity to this wine.
Tasting notes
Blackberry fruit aromas with tea-leaf and cedar notes. The palate is rich and polished with dark fruit and mocha flavors and a finely balanced acidity. Long finish with the fine tannins typical of a Jonkershoek Valley wine.
Pairing notes
striploin steak or flank steak
