Winemaking notes
Château Sigalas Rabaud 2012 is produced from a blend dominated by Sémillon (86%), complemented by Sauvignon (14%). The 2012 vintage required very precise harvesting, carried out in five successive passes between October 1st and October 31st, in order to collect noble rot at optimal maturity. The estate’s small surface area (14 hectares) allowed for an especially rigorous grape selection. The wine is aged for 18 months in oak barrels.
Viticultural notes
Located in Bommes, in the Sauternes appellation. The current 14-hectare estate, known as the “jewel of Sigalas,” corresponds to the south-facing gravelly rise retained by the Sigalas family in the 19th century. Today, the Lambert des Granges family continues a long-standing tradition of terroir respect and careful vineyard selection. The vineyard is planted primarily with Sémillon, the flagship grape of the appellation.
Tasting notes
The wine reveals intense fruit aromas, followed more discreetly by floral notes typical of the Sigalas Rabaud terroir. A well-defined freshness brings balance and vibrancy to the wine. The acidity extends the finish, leading to a lively expression that encourages another sip.
