Winemaking notes
This 100% Sémillon is aged for 12 months in barrels under the expert guidance of oenologist Éric Boissenot. The meticulous winemaking process, combined with a careful selection of the grapes, results in a wine that is pure, precise, and expressive of its exceptional terroir, highlighting its freshness and natural elegance.
Viticultural notes
Born from the same terroir as the Premier Cru Classé, this wine emerges under demanding conditions. After a very rainy spring that ensured strong vine growth, a hot and dry summer and late season allowed the grapes to reach full ripeness. The long-awaited botrytis, like a blessing, finally arrived in the last week of September.
Tasting notes
The nose of this Lieutenant 2018 is delightfully fleshy and fruit-driven, releasing aromas of roasted peach, pineapple, honey, and linden blossom. The palate is generous and silky, its velvety texture reminiscent of peach skin. It envelops the mouth through to a long, juicy finish marked by notes of candied fruit.
Pairing notes
Serve chilled, between 10 and 12°C. Ideal as an aperitif, it also pairs beautifully with roasted poultry, blue cheeses, or fruit-based desserts. Accessible and elegant, it offers a perfect introduction to Sauternes, balancing sweetness, acidity, and aromatic freshness.
