Winemaking notes
In steel tanks. 10/12 days of maceration with the skins, with a soft “shower” system of wetting the cap. Malolactic fermentation in steel. Minimum of 18 months. Aged for 12 months in large oak casks before refinement in the bottle.
Viticultural notes
Only from the better exposed vineyards; vineyards of reference on the La Court estate. Called the ‘astiane sands'’, it consists of calcareous clay marl of sedimentary marine origin, with good presence of lime and sand, rich in microelements, in particular magnesium.
Tasting notes
Intense ruby red. Surprising for its clarity and elegance, red fruit, mature cherry, raspberry and the sweet notes of tobacco. Complex, structured and impresses for its fresh softness and roundness; pleasing savoury finish. #54 Top 100 Wine Spectator 2023 - 92 points Rated 95/100 Wine Enthusiast Rated 95/100 Kerin O'Keefe Rated 93/100 Falstaff
Pairing notes
Accompanies cured meats, pasta with meat sauce, risotto, fillet, guinea fowl, medium-aged goat cheeses
