Winemaking notes
Fermentation for 15 days in 55 hl oak vats with the skins, with a soft “shower” system of wetting the cap at a temperature between 30°C / 27°C. Malolactic vat fermentation. Aging: 30 months in total. Depending on the vintage, most of it in large barrels, the remaining part in barriques for 1 year. A period of 18 months refinement in the bottle follows.
Viticultural notes
Acquired in 1995, Tenuta La Court was created to be the «Chateaux del Nizza Docg». The former Aluffi estate, originating from the 1800s, is a single parcel of 20 hectares: a size which makes La Court one of the most important in Monferrato, a unique and inimitable stage for the Barbera grape variety. Our most important Nizza and Barbera wines are from the best vineyards of the Estate, elegant wines with great structure and longevity.
Tasting notes
Purple with brilliant ruby hues. Ample, intense, elegant with notes of black cherry, cocoa, coffee.Very good structure, fresh, velvety with a long, silky finish.
