Viticultural notes
The Hermitage vines in this legendary appellation grow on a hill overlooking the Rhône and produce exceptional, powerful, very aromatic wines with wonderful finesse in the mouth. Hermitage has a long history tracing back from the 10th century. granite soils and great sun exposure aspects.
Tasting notes
A brilliant dark purple colour. Very aromatic with complex flavours of red fruits and wild flowers, maturing into leather nuances. Well-balanced with smooth tannins and a round and spicy finish. 2016 - 90 Points Wine Enthusiast - Compared to traditional examples of Hermitage that often take a decade to open, this sunny, ample Syrah offers bright blueberry and boysenberry flavors with ease. Notes of briar, chocolate and cardamom lend a spicy, peppery tone to the midpalate. This accessible but elegant Syrah is ready to enjoy now but should hold.
Pairing notes
Enjoy this ‘cru’ with fine red meat, Tournedos Rossini, grilled prime rib or wild game.
