Winemaking notes
Vinified at the Quinta da Leda winery using grapes from the estate and nearby high-altitude
vineyards in the Douro Superior. After destemming and soft-crushing, the grapes were transferred
to stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation took place. A long maceration ensued at
controlled temperatures, in order to extract the compounds that give this wine its colour, aroma,
flavour and longevity.
Viticultural notes
The grapes come from high-altitude vineyards in the Douro Superior, benefiting from a cool climate and rich soils. These ideal conditions enable slow, balanced ripening, ensuring optimal harvests for elegant, complex wines.
Tasting notes
This wine has an intense ruby color and a complex aroma with notes of black fruits, spices, tobacco and cedar. On the palate, it offers good volume, firm tannins, lively acidity and flavors of black fruits and spices, with a long, elegant finish.
Pairing notes
Serve between 16°C and 18°C, decanting to remove natural deposits. This wine goes perfectly with grilled red meats, game such as venison or wild boar, and stewed dishes. It also goes well with mature cheeses such as Pecorino or creamy blue cheese. Try it with herb-flavored rack of lamb or filet mignon for an exceptional match.
