Winemaking notes
After a winter marked by significant temperature variations and an early spring with summer colors, a very intense frost affected the whole of Burgundy. The months follow one another between rainy periods and high temperatures. Summer is characterized by episodes of heat and humidity and the end of August is marked by the arrival of cool, autumnal temperatures. The sun takes over in mid-September at the start of the harvest which will take place under beautiful sunshine. The white wines are elegant with floral notes and well balanced when tasting.
Viticultural notes
Soil: Silty-sandy clays, more stony at the top of the plot. In the heart of the Clos des Mouches appellation Chanson is one of the main owners with a plot of 4.3 hectares of which 2.2 ha are planted with Chardonnay. A sunny terroir which benefits from an ideal location on the south-east facing slopes of Mont Saint-Désiré, on the edge of the Pommard Premiers Crus.
Tasting notes
Beautiful gold color. Floral fragrances (acacia) with notes of citrus and green almond mixed with vanilla. Well balanced on good tension. The texture is precise and deep. Long and generous finish with a hint of minerality. Score: 93/100 The World of Fine Wines - 90-93/100 Burghound
Pairing notes
Foie gras, seafood, just fried scallops, poultry with cream and morels, grilled fish or in sauce, regional cheeses (Citeaux, Epoisses and an old Comté).
