Winemaking notes
On the plots made up of clay soils, the vines resisted the water stress better caused by the low accumulation of water between March and June and the summer drought. The harvest in Burgundy began around August 20, a historically early date for the region. At Chanson, they began on August 24 under a blazing sun. The red wines of the 2020 vintage are generous, concentrated, with a very good definition of the terroir.
Viticultural notes
Very deep and dense. Clayey and a little stony at the top of the plot, very clayey and loamy at the bottom of the plot. South of the hill of Corton, Chanson owns 5.4 hectares in "les Vergelesses", the most famous Premier Cru which gave its name to the village of Pernand.
Tasting notes
Purple color. Intense aromas of small black fruits (blackcurrant, cherry and blackberry) with hints of spices and roasting. intense and powerful. Deep texture on a powerful tannic structure. Long and full finish.
Pairing notes
Grilled rib steak, red meats, game and all regional cheeses (Brillat-Savarin, Epoisses, Citeaux, Langres).
